Mrs. Ruth Davis
Instructor: Ruth Davis
Welcome to our Kindergarten webpage! My name is Ruth Davis and my teaching assistant's name is Marilyn Price.  For your convenience, I will post newsletters, events, and activity websites for your child this school year. Communication between home and school is vital for the success of every child's education.

This is my 33rd year teaching Kindergarten-five year olds.  I have always had  high expectations for all my students and I encourage them to"be the best they can be"! My goal is to inspire students to become readers and to prepare them to be first graders!

Our classroom is located on the Blue Hall in Room 135. If you need to contact me, my email address is
rudavis@lex3.k12.sc.us or you can just write a note in your child's agenda. We welcome visitors and parent volunteers anytime.

*Please check and sign agendas, DAILY! Thanks!

**Please help your child learn to tie their shoes! Mrs. Bouknight will check shoe tying in September! Thanks!

*Send an extra change of clothes in a large ziploc bag with your child's name on it to leave at school for accidents.

*Return the purple HOMEWORK Folder inside the agenda to school each day. Homework will be placed in the purple homework folder during the week. Please help your child complete this work and return it to school. The Book in the Purple Folder is also part of homework when it is sent home. A Personal Pan Pizza Hut coupon will be sent home once a month provided the monthly reading calendar is signed.  EXTRA homework can be found on this website under the HOMEWORK FOLDER section.

* Remember to sign or initial  the calendar that comes home with a book or  booklet in the Purple Folder when your child reads to you each day. Send the calendar back in the Purple Folder. These paper booklets are for you to keep at home for review!  Later on your child will bring home a school purchased book to read to you.  These are leveled readers and cost $7.00 if lost or damaged. We will begin sending Leveled Reader books home around January.

*Remember! Send Box Tops for Education labels for our school. These can be found on many name brand products! Our school receives funds for these labels.
You may also go online and sign up for our school on www.btfe.com. * We are also collecting Capri Sun drink packets without the straw-worth 2 cents each for our school!
